Ev Evnen
Director of Finance and Research

Ev Evnen joins MaeBright from a policy and research background, and heads data and evaluation activities. Ev holds an MPP and MBA from the Heller School of Social Policy and Management at Brandeis. Throughout graduate school, they were involved in a number of diversity and inclusion initiatives, including work on the Heller Diversity Steering Committee. Ev has also worked with GLSEN as a Research Fellow, conducting research on outcomes from LGBTQ+ high school athletes. They hold a BA from Wesleyan University. Ev lives in Denver with their scruffy dog, Max.

Raimi Marx   
Director of Training and Curriculum

Raimi Marx is a facilitator, advocate, and consultant who, since 2005, has worked with communities to create more nurturing and equitable spaces for LGBTQ+ people and all those who experience oppression. They come to MaeBright with an MA in Education, for which they published a guide on building trans-inclusive educational spaces. Raimi has previously worked in sexual and reproductive health, survivor support, and legal advocacy. Currently, Raimi is pursuing an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling, with the intention of providing client-centered therapy specifically for queer, trans, and disabled folks. 

Damián Lima
Director of Business Development

Damián Lima is an advocate for the health and rights of transgender, queer, and immigrant people. He graduated from Wellesley College with a Bachelor's degree in Women's and Gender Studies. His has worked as an HIV and STI tester and counselor, Co-Chair of the Bayard Rustin Breakfast Committee, and Co-Organizer of the second Gender Reel Film Festival in Boston, as well as numerous community-building events. In 2015 he was awarded the Network/La Red's Community Luminary Award, and in 2016 was recognized by Fenway Health for his contributions to the improvement of Transgender healthcare. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health at Simmons University with a concentration on Health Inequities.

Missy Mae Sturtevant, LCsw   
founder and collaborator

MaeBright was founded by Missy Mae Sturtevant, LCSW. Missy holds over a decade of training and facilitation experience. She studied social work at Wheelock College and has a BA in Psychology with minors in Health and Wellness as well as Theatre from Cedar Crest College. Missy has direct and macro level social work experience that includes policy research, youth leadership development, group home care, and inclusive comprehensive sexuality education.

Taneekah Johnson
Collaborator

Taneekah Johnson is a community organizer, entrepreneur, and cupcake genius. She joins MaeBright with a BA from Clark University, and over 15 years experience in non-profit management, program development, and sales. In her role as Collaborator Taneekah serves as a driver, organizer, trainer, speaker solicitor; whatever it takes to support MaeBright's training efforts.
